Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez have become instrumental in Barcelona’s push to keep Brazilian star Neymar at the club.

Messi and Suarez are close friends both on and off the pitch, having been spotted on holiday together earlier this summer. And while the duo usually stay out of business matters such as transfers and player contracts, the case of Neymar is obviously different.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Neymar has reportedly been sat down by his fellow South Americans and told that they want him to stay with them.

Having three world-class players mesh as well as Messi, Suarez, and Neymar do is a rarity, and Messi and Suarez do not want to disrupt that balance.

Both recognise that Neymar’s ultimate ambition is to be the best player in the world, which is said to be the driving force behind the desire to move to PSG. Messi and Suarez believe that they can help Neymar onto that throne.
