Second in the league, a quarter-finals berth in the Champions League and a bit of domestic silverware would represent a pretty good season for most clubs, but not for Barcelona.

Having seen their rivals, Real Madrid win La Liga and the biggest prize in Europe, last season would certainly have been tough to digest for the Catalan giants.

Their over-reliance on the trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar was exposed and with expensive signings under-performing, Barca now have to look to re-instate their status as one of the greatest clubs in Europe.
