Al Wahda will have to win their remaining two Arabian Gulf Cup fixtures, including against Group B leaders Al Shabab on Monday, to have any hope of making the semi-finals, according to head coach Javier Aguirre.

The Clarets have drawn their opening four fixtures and the Mexican knows that needs to change.

“We still have the chance to qualify in the next match against Al Shabab but we have to win our next two matches to qualify for the semi-finals,” said Aguirre.

“The match against Shabab will be difficult because Shabab is a good team and they have got nine points.

“We will try to play the match without mistakes and win the three points.”

Losing is also not an option for Bani Yas, who travel to the Western Region to take on Al Dhafra.

The Sky Blues sit bottom of Group A with two defeats and although they do still have four games remaining to finish inside the top two, Luis Garcia is missing key trio Ishak Belfodil, Mark Milligan and UAE international Amer Abdulrahman.

“We have several absences, some of the players are injured and Belfodil, Milligan and Amer are with their national teams, but there are many players that can cover the place of the absent players,” said the Spaniard.

In Monday’s other game, Emirates Club host Al Nasr, with the Blue Wave looking to go clear at the top of the table with victory.
