AGL strugglers Dibba Al Fujairah turn to Kenya and Cape Town City forward Masoud Juma

Dibba Al Fujairah have turned to club-less Kenya forward Masoud Juma in a desperate attempt to end their appalling start to 2018/19.

Juma, 22, has been without an employer since he was released by South Africa’s Cape Town City – managed by ex-Porto and Blackburn Rovers striker Benni McCarthy – on August 4. This followed a paltry return of one goal in eight matches since January’s procurement from Kariobangi Sharks in his homeland.

He now joins an ailing club that has lost all five matches at the start of the season to a combined score of 15-4. Brazilian striker Guilherme Schettine is likely to make way in the four-player foreign quota after four scoreless appearances since a fruitless summer switch from Saudi Arabia’s Al Batin.

“Kenyan forward Masoud Juma is officially in the Dibba Al Fujairah ranks,” the Fishermen tweeted. “He joins after being at Cape Town City FC.”

Juma is likely to be handed an immediate debut in Thursday’s high-pressure visit of Al Dhafra. Both sides are winless and sit in the two relegation places, with the visitors propping up the table.

The attacker had been a prolific scorer in Kenya at Shabana, Bandari, SoNy Sugar and the Sharks. For the national team, three goals have been registered in seven caps.

Dibba boss Paulo Comeli will need Juma to start firing if a fifth-successive top-flight campaign is to be earned by next May.
