Mohammed Ayed is the latest player to arrive at Al Nasr this summer after the 27-year-old completed his move from Arabian Gulf League rivals Al Jazira.

The defender has moved to the Blue Wave on a three-year contract, just 12 months after signing for two-time AGL champions Jazira where he only played four times in the league.

“Al Nasr has agreed a deal for defender Mohammed Ayed from Al Jazira Club on a contract that will last three years. The player will wear the number 21 shirt,” read a statement on Al Nasr’s official Twitter account.

Ayed’s new employers have been busy in the pre-season as coach Ivan Jovanovic looks to improve on their fourth-place finish in the AGL where they finished 16 points behind champions Al Ain.

Former France, PSG and Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye is their most high-profile signing with the 32-year-old ending his three-year stay in the Premier League with Crystal Palace.

Jovanovic has already landed a new striker in the form of Brazilian Iury de Castilho from Ukraine’s Zorya Luhansk. The 22-year-old scored on 11 occasions in 25 Ukrainian Premier League matches last term for his fourth-placed employers.

With the season to begin next month, Nasr have acted early in their transfer business with UAE centre-back Mohammed Marzooq arriving from Shabab Al Ahli Dubai Club and young forward Mohamed Al Akbari from Al Wahda.
