The future of Fujairah-target Jorge Valdivia remains uncertain as the player’s agent Wagner Ribeiro is unable to contact the Chilean.

The Palmeiras midfielder’s proposed 4m (Dh19.7m) transfer to the Arabian Gulf League club collapsed last month after the Chile international failed to arrive in the UAE having signed an agreement with Fujairah.

However, with Palmeiras unhappy to continue paying his wages for the rest of the month the Brazilian club are keen to sell the 30-year-old who is the club’s highest earner.

But Valdivia has put any potential deal on hold as he remains on holiday and has ignored calls from both Palmeiras and agent Wagner Ribeiro.

Ribeiro said: “I want to talk to him so I can understand what went wrong in the UAE. But already I have other proposals for him, including a first division club of the French Championship.

"Let’s analyse this calmly, because the Europe transfer window only ends on the 31st (of August).”
