Al Kamali makes UAE history with UEFA Champions League debut

Hamid Al Kamali has made UAE football history after the youngster became the first Emirati footballer to play in the UEFA Champions League.

The Al Wahda defender is on-loan at Maltese champions Valletta FC, who qualified for the second round of Champions League qualifying thanks to their league triumph. 

And on Tuesday night, Valletta took on Azerbaijan Premier League winners Qarabağ in the second leg, with Al Kamali making an appearance from the bench with five minutes remaining. 

A 4-0 loss on the night ensured Valletta were eliminated 5-0 on aggregate, but despite the defeat Al Kamali's place in UAE football history been secured.
