Andre Senghor is free to negotiate with other teams having been released by Bani Yas, the club have confirmed.

AGL high-flyers Sharjah had shown an interest in the 28-yearold following his failed loan at Al Wasl but decided not to follow that up and Senghor was linked with a move to the Sudani Premier League on Tuesday.

The Senegalese striker, capped eight times by his country, arrived at Al Samawi in the summer of 2009 and scored 60 goals in 83 league appearances for the Al Shamkha side.

However, he was lent to Wasl at the start of this season and endured a disappointing time in Dubai netting just five times in 15 Arabian Gulf League games.

Senghor was let go by the Zabeel Stadium outfit in January following the arrival of Ricardo Oliveira and returned to Bani Yas where he was unregistered.

“He was talking with our management and they have given him the chance to find a new club,” a Bani Yas spokesman said.

Meanwhile, Emirates have handed coach Paulo Comelli a new one-year contract after he successfully guided the Ras Al Khaimah club to safety.

The Brazilian had verbally agreed an extension last week but the deal was dependant on his side staying in the AGL, something they achieved with a 1-1 draw at Wasl.

Comelli was appointed in December and has overseen 15 league games, winning three, drawing six and losing as many.
