Al Wahda coach Jose Peseiro has told his players they must play better against Ajman on Friday than they did when beating Al Shabab last weekend.

The capital club are unbeaten in six league games and moved level on points with fourth-placed Sharjah thanks to a 2-1 win at the Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum Stadium.

With their four remaining games all against teams in the bottom half they have put themselves well in contention for a place in the 2015 AFC Champions League.

But Peseiro, whose side’s last defeat came against Emirates, warned against complacency as he said: “My goal as coach is to put in the mind of my team that they must put in maximum effort in all games.

“Ajman is an important match for us.

“I believe my players respect the opponent – we didn’t beat them away.

“If we [are to] beat them, we must play better than we played against Shabab,” added Peseiro.
