The King are assessing their options as they look to recover from a second-successive dalliance with the drop to First Division League.

Emirati Abdulaziz Al Anbari just kept them up after replacing Paulo Bonamigo in November 2015, finishing one point and one place above relegated Fujairah.

Officials recently travelled to Portugal to interview Paulo Sergio, who decided to join Dibba Al Fujairah last week, and 2000/01 Primeira Liga winner Pacheco. A one-year deal worth $650,000 was presented to the latter mentioned 57-year-old, who turned it down because of the low rate of renumeration.

If Pacheco finally agrees to accept another Middle Eastern post after being unemployed since a second spell at Al Shabab Riyadh ended in 2015, he will join a club in the process of change. Sharjah announced a new committee to improve transfer strategy on Sunday.

President of the club’s board of directors Sheikh Ahmed Al Thani said: “We’ve formed the transfer committee and it includes highly qualified personnel to choose what’s best for the club in the coming period. We’re going through a delicate phase and we must work hard to achieve the club’s goals.”

As well as Al Nasr target Wanderley, they are likely to be without five-goal Maicosuel next term. An exclusive period to turn the Brazilian playmaker’s loan switch into a permanent move from Atletico Mineiro has lapsed.
