Al Shabab kept Al Ahli’s lead at the top to just four points after three second-half goals saw them win 3-1 against Emirates. Emirates had gone ahead in the 32nd minute through Abdulla Nini via Alhusain Saleh’s pass but Shabab fought back after the break with Mohammed Marzooq, Nasser Masood and Adeilson sealing the three points.

Elsewhere, Mohamed Naser’s last-minute equaliser earned Al Wasl a 1-1 draw against Bani Yas at the Zabeel Stadium.

Haboush Saleh had fired Bani Yas ahead in the first half after a fine run and cross from Marcelinho but it was a case of third time lucky for Naser.

The striker had first-half efforts disallowed for handball and then offside but produced an equaliser at the death from close range after being set-up by Khalifa Abdulla.

Meanwhile, Ibrahima Toure and Makhete Diop both scored as Al Dhafra drew 1-1 with Al Nasr
