The two sides will now meet in Friday’s showpiece event at Zayed Sports City after Barcelona dispatched Al Dhafra 4-1 and Liverpool saw off German outfit Hamburg 5-0.

The under-16 tournament got underway with the UAE juniors taking on their illustrious counterparts and the team from the Emirates began well.

However, Miguel Martínez broke the deadlock for the Spaniards in the 24th minute to hand Barcelona a 1-0 lead at the break.

After half-time Barcelona proved too strong, Jandro Orellana doubling their lead in the 56th before Guillem Mico added a third ten minutes later.

Dhafra replied two minutes after Mico’s strike, Waleed Al Hammadi scoring from the penalty spot to make it 3-1.

They couldn’t find a way back into the game though and Enric Martinez put the game beyond doubt five minutes from time to round off a comfortable win for Barcelona.

In the other semi-final, Liverpool breezed past Hamburg thanks to a brace from Paul Glatzel and strikes by Rhian Brewster, Luis James and Okera Simmando.

The final will take place on Friday at 15:30 GST.
