Substance over style for Al Jazira as winning is vital – Fares Juma

Al Jazira defender Fares Juma does not care if the crisis club play ugly against Dibba Al Fujairah, as long as they win.

The Pride of Abu Dhabi sit two points off the relegation zone in 11th after an awful campaign, during which they started as one of the title favourites.

Defeat to neighbours Al Wahda last time out left them winless in four Arabian Gulf League matches, a run they must correct at home to the on-song promoted club tonight.

“The position of Al Jazira in the table is not satisfactory,” said UAE defender Juma. “Our focus has to be on reaping the full points, regardless of the beauty of the performance and playing style.

“We would be happy if we beat Dibba even if we do not offer the fun performance the fans are used to.”

Meanwhile, Bani Yas boss Luis Garcia is taking nothing for granted at inconsistent Al Shabab.

The Sky Blues travel to Dubai tonight to face a team who finished third last term, but currently sit sixth after recording one victory in their last three top-flight games.

“Some clubs do not have big names but they have good records,” the Spaniard said. “Bani Yas know that Al Shabab is a difficult team, no matter what.”

Elsewhere, Emirates Club will hope the snapping of their nine-match losing streak against Al Shaab will inspire them at mid-
table Fujairah on Friday.
