China came from behind to defeat Thailand 2-1 and book a quarter-final berth at the Asian Cup on Sunday.

Supachai Jaided scored the opener for Thailand but China hit back in the second half with a goal from substitute Xiao Zhi before Gao Lin converted from the spot.

China live to fight another day but for Thailand, they leave the tournament with their heads held high.

It’s been an eventful tournament for Thailand, who sacked their coach Milovan Rajevac after their 4-1 drubbing by India but recovered to reach the last 16.
