Arsenal don’t work hard enough: Bendtner hails Juventus training

09:47 04/12/2013

Nicklas Bendtner is the lastest in a long line of players to criticise Arsenal after labelling Juventus’ training regime as the best has ever been involved in.

The Danish striker joined the Italian champions on a season-long loan from the Gunners on transfer deadline day last summer.

Despite failing to establish himself in Turin with the Bianconeri,  currently on a 44-match unbeaten run in the league, Bendtner claims he is fitter than he has ever been and puts it down to the rigourous training at the club.

Bendtner was accused of being overweight upon completing his move to the club, but is now fighting fit after shedding the pounds and has been quick to praise Juve’s meticulous planning and coaching.

“At Juventus, the training has been different to – and much harder than – anything I’ve done before,” he said in Ekstra Bladet. “Because of that, my form is at a peak. I’m much sharper. Without playing, I’m down to fighting weight and that’s never happened before.”

Bendtner’s praise for his parent club is a slap in the face for Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who had recently hinted that the Dane still had a future at the Emirates Stadium.

Bendtner, 24, has made just one league appearance for Juve but is confident he will be given more opportunities as the season progresses with the Bianconeri battling for honours on all fronts.

“I think Juventus are aware of what I can do. When you come to a new club, you have to learn about things. In seven games, they have won six and drawn one, so it’s fine,” he said.
