‘I was approached to play in the UAE’, admits ex-Real Madrid and Manchester United star David Beckham

04:32 04/12/2013

EXCLUSIVE: David Beckham has revealed exclusively to Sport360° that he had been approached by clubs in the UAE when it looked likely he would leave LA Galaxy over the winter.

The football icon, who agreed to extend his stay in Major League Soccer despite interest from the Middle East and, notably, Qatar-backed Paris St Germain in France’s Ligue 1, also said that he was aware of how football is emerging in Dubai and that “it’s a great place to live and a great place to play”.

Sport360° managed to catch a quick word with Beckham in Los Angeles after LA Galaxy’s Concacaf Champions League 2-1 quarter-final loss against Toronto FC last week, a result that saw crash out 4-3 on aggregate.
