Brazil have reached the final of the Copa America after a 2-0 victory over Argentina.

Gabriel Jesus and Roberto Firmino both found the net as the hosts overcame their arch-rivals for a place in the championship match.

Tite’s men had been hoping to right some past wrongs as they returned to the Mineirao, the same stadium where they were thumped 7-1 by Germany in the 2014 World Cup semi-finals.

Jesus opened the scoring after 19 minutes, burying a low cross from Firmino to clinch his first goal of the tournament.

The Manchester City striker then returned the favour in the second half, setting up Firmino for a simple tap-in to double the advantage in the 71st minute.

Argentina, who last won the tournament in 1993, saw several chances go begging, almost pulling level in the first half when a header from Sergio Aguero hit the front side of the cross bar.

Brazil goalie Alisson was forced into a diving save just minutes after the break, while Lionel Messi was also denied by the post.

The Selecao, in their first Copa America final since 2007, have yet to concede a goal in the tournament.

They will face either defending champions Chile or Peru for the title in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday.
