Argentina have been left picking up the pieces after their disappointing World Cup campaign in Russia and so interim boss Lionel Scaloni can be forgiven for his priorities laying elsewhere ahead of the blockbuster friendly with Brazil.

With no Lionel Messi in the squad as his national-team future remains up in the air, it’s very much a transitional period for La Albiceleste.
