Argentina legend Diego Maradona is committed to his new challenge as chairman of ambitious Belarus side Dynamo Brest.

The footballing icon was unveiled to the club’s fanbase on Monday and watched on as his new team went down 3-1 to FC Shakhtyor in the Belarusian Premier League.

Maradona announced a three-year deal with Brest back in May, just days after his shock departure from UAE outfit Fujairah.

“These people seem very serious to me,” Maradona, who has been a Dubai resident for several years and recently took in plenty of football action at the World Cup, told a press conference.

“I am not afraid of the challenge, serious projects.”
