Argentinian defender Javier Mascherano scored his first goal for Hebei FC on Wednesday.

The 33-year old who moved only earlier this year from Barcelona, after spending eight years with the Catalans, ended up on the losing side though, as Shandong Luneng triumphed 3-2 in the encounter.

While Mascherano’s could only score one goal at Barca, that too with a penalty, and it took almost a lifetime to come, his first goal has come in his ninth appearance for the Chinese Super League (CSL) club.

Meanwhile, Brazilian international Gil opened the scoring for Shandong Luneng in the 28th minute after which Mascherano equalised and soon after Hernanes put Hebei ahead in the 80th minute.

But two goals from Papiss Cisse in the 82th and 86th minute gave Luneng a 3-2 win.
