FIFA’s 2026 World Cup Bid Evaluation Group visited potential host stadiums near New York City if the tri-nation bid of the USA, Canada, and Mexico wins the right to host the tournament.

Red Bull Arena, home to MLS side New York Red Bulls, was the first stadium on FIFA’s list in their tour, followed by the MetLife Stadium, where the city’s NFL teams, the New York Giants and the New York Jets, play their home games.

FIFA has also visited Mexico City and Atlanta as apart of their evaluation of the bid, and is also expected to see stadiums in Toronto during their current trip.

The three nations’ joint bid is up against Morocco for the 2026 World Cup, with FIFA due to vote for a winner on June 13, one day before this year’s World Cup begins in Russia.

Voting is expected to be close, with some predictions even casting Morocco as the front-runner at the moment.
