KYLIAN MBAPPE

Kylian Mbappe rejected the opportunity to join Barcelona despite the Catalan giants reaching an agreement with Monaco.

According to L’Equipe, the deal would have seen Mbappe join Barca with Arda Turan going the other way but the 18-year-old instead opted to join PSG on a season-long loan ahead of an expected €180 million permanent move next summer.

RATING: 7/10

VERDICT

It appears the summer transfer window was a complete ‘L’ for Barca with PSG not only poaching Neymar from them but also seemingly his chief replacement.

Still, Ernesto Valverde’s side have started strongly, even without Ousmane Dembele, and they look set for silverware despite their disappointing summer.

MOUCTAR DIAKHABY

Chelsea are exploring the possibility of signing Lyon defender Mouctar Diakhaby, reports the Daily Mail .

The 20-year-old is also being watched by Manchester City and Juventus who have sent scouts to watch him in action this season.

RATING: 7/10

VERDICT

An authoritative figure, the France U21 defender has quietly emerged as one of the top young centre-halves in Europe.

With David Luiz’s future uncertain, Antonio Conte will hope he can beat his rivals to bolster his uncharacteristically fragile backline.

JACK HARRISON

New York City FC winger Jack Harrison the subject of interest from a trio of Premier League clubs, according to the Daily Mail.

Everton, Leicester and Brighton are all ready to battle for his signature with the England U21 international valued at around £6million.

RATING: 8/10

VERDICT

With 14 goals and 13 assists in 59 games across two MLS seasons, it was only a matter of time before the 20-year-old attracted interest from the Premier League.

The former Manchester United academy prospect has made steady progress in New York under the tutelage of former Arsenal and Man City midfielder Patrick Vieira but having left England at 14, could be set for a return.
