Mario Gotze is adamant Borussia Dortmund can improve on a “very good season” with new boss Peter Bosz at the helm.

The former Ajax manager took charge this summer after Thomas Tuchel’s departure following clashes with the club’s hierarchy.

Dortmund finished the Bundesliga in third, 18 points off champions Bayern Munich, and were eliminated at the quarter-final stage in the Champions League but they did secure their first trophy in five years by beating Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 in the DFB Pokal final.

Gotze himself endured a devastating season having not featured since January due to a ‘metabolic disorder’.

But the 25-year-old made his first appearance in five months after coming on as a second-half substitute in Dortmund’s pre-season friendly win over Urawa Red Diamonds in Japan this week.

The Germany international talks all things Dortmund in the video below.
