STAT: The surprise striker leading the Premier League in least amount of minutes per goal ratio

When you think of the Premier League’s deadliest strikers, the names that pop up would usually include Sergio Aguero, Romelu Lukaku, Harry Kane, Diego Costa, or Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Well, when it comes to minutes per goal, Kane is the only one who appears in the Premier League’s top four stars – and he trails a surprise name at the top of the list.

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has received plenty of stick from pundits and fans, with the prevailing opinion seemingly being that he’s a good, but not great, striker. Some of that comes from the fact that Giroud arrived at the Emirates right at the same time as when Robin van Persie was completing an acrimonious move to Manchester United, and thus the Frenchman is compared, at times unfairly, to his Dutch predecessor.

There is also a general knock that Giroud will never be a world-class striker, even if he pops up with useful goals.

Is the criticism the Frenchman faces unfair?
