Dubai World Cup 2017: Diego Maradona meets Sheikh Mohammed, Stoke City stars Peter Crouch, Charlie Adam and Co at Meydan for a day at the races

While it was Arrogate, the highest-rated horse in the world, who put on a spectacle to win the 22nd running of the Dubai World Cup on Saturday, there were some big names present at the Meydan Racecourse to watch it all unfold.

Footballing legend Diego Maradona, a Dubai resident, took in the horse racing action and met with ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

He also shared a picture with prince Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum.

Stoke City stars Peter Crouch, Charlie Adam, Glen Johnson and Phil Bardsley were also among the attendees.

Bardsley’s wife’s, Tanya, shared some photos of their experiences on Instagram.
