Surprising stat suggests Zlatan Ibrahimovic may be holding Manchester United back

Manchester United’s signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been hailed as a masterstroke after a largely successful debut season in the Premier League, with his goals proving crucial as the team chase a top four spot in the league and a cup treble.

But although he is the Red Devils’ leading scorer by far this season, a surprising statistic shows that Ibrahimovic’s finishing has in fact not been entirely up to par.

There have been some glaring misses, most recently a missed penalty against Bournemouth in a game that ended in a draw, when a win would have taken United into the top four, albeit only briefly.

Where would Manchester United be if Ibrahimovic had been more efficient this season?
