STATS: Leicester City’s horror show in front of goal extends beyond turn of the year

Leicester City’s struggle for goals in 2017 has been well-documented, with the club being the only team in Europe’s top five leagues yet to score a goal this year, a run of six games.

But their poor show in front of goal has gone on for much longer than the beginning of the year, as the stats show. While Jamie Vardy scored 24 league goals last season, and Riyad Mahrez added 17, this year, no striker has found anywhere near that sort of form.

Vardy, Mahrez and company have a chance to turn things around starting with Monday’s game against Liverpool, the Foxes’ first game since the shock decision to sack Claudio Ranieri.

Can Leicester City rediscover the attacking verve that helped bring a miraculous Premier League title to the King Power Stadium last season?
