Nicolas Anelka has enjoyed an illustrious career and Sport360 caught up with the Frenchman for his top three picks.

Here, the 37-year-old picks out his top strikers, the best managers he’s played for and his most memorable career highlights.

Anelka was at All Star Sport in Dubai on Friday

TOP THREE STRIKERS

When pressed for his take on the top three strikers in world football at the moment, Anelka added a new Manchester United signing to that of the familiar La Liga duo.

“The top three strikers right now for me are Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic,” he determined.

TOP THREE MANAGERS

Anelka has played under his fair share of tacticians but didn’t take long to name the three he most enjoyed working with; two of whom he met at Chelsea.

“My top three managers would be Carlo Ancelotti, Arsene Wenger and Guus Hiddink,” said the former French international who has tried his hand at management himself with Shanghai Shenhua and Mumbai City FC.

TOP THREE CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Finally, the striker was asked to pick his favourite career highlights and it’s no surprise that his Champions League triumph with Real Madrid was right up there.

“Winning the Champions League with Real Madrid is my top highlight because it’s very hard to win it,” Anelka said.

“Then, the Premier League with Arsenal because it was special for Arsenal and for me as I was very young.

“Finally, the Premier League with Chelsea because I had to wait another 10 years to win it again.”
