Mido honours his word and shaves head

Fans across the world jumped and cried in jubilation when Eden Hazard’s curled effort hit the back of the net. For Chelsea fans, in spite of bitter London rivals Tottenham who failed to secure the seemingly impossible task of beating the Blues at the Bridge. For Leicester and neutral fans, efforts of a miraculous season paid off.

But one ex-Spurs striker probably twitched nervously in his seat for a different reason altogether. Months before the Foxes looked to secure an unlikely milestone, ex-Spurs man and beIN Sports pundit Mido calmly placed a bet, playing down Leicester City’s chances of claiming their first-ever trophy in 132 years of history.

With the fulltime whistle blown, viewers took to Twitter demanding the former Egyptian international honour his deal and do away with his distinct wavy locks of hair. The deed was finally done after the East Midlands side convincingly put three past Everton on Saturday.

Perhaps Mauro Camoranesi, World Cup winner, knows this feeling all too well after honouring his end of the bargain with Massimo Oddo following their penalty shootout against France.

Or more recently when Luka Modric got rid of his waves as Real Madrid clinched their historic La Decima back in 2014.

All that remains is for another former Spurs player be held to account. Like Mido, striker and pundit Gary Lineker couldn’t fathom his hometown’s prospects of contesting the title and is now desperately trying to back out but onslaught of tweets aren’t letting him off the hook any time soon.
