Young Talents Cricket Academy capitalised on Fahad Nawaz’s splendid century to register a 45-run victory over Canadian Cricket Academy.

At Sharjah’s Skyline College ground, Young Talents Cricket Academy posted a mammoth total of 175-5 in their 20 overs thanks to the efforts of Nawaz, who scored exactly 100.

He was well supported by Imraj Singh (24), Farjad Khan (24) and Mustaf Shakil (12no), who all added valuable runs in their Under-15 encounter.

While it was tough for the bowlers, Abdul Rehman was the stand-out player finishing with figures of 2-31.

Set a competitive target, Canadian Cricket Academy found things tough and couldn’t score the boundaries against a discplined bowling unit.

Despite wickets falling, the batsmen continued to score the singles but were restricted to 130-9.

Huzaifa Saleem and Mustafa Shakeel claimed two wickets each, while Taher Nawaz (1-11) and Imraj Singh took one wicket, conceding just nine runs.

Anand Kumar topped his team’s batting tally with 24, while Umair Ali scored 10.

Nawaz’s achievement was the second century by Young Talents Cricket Academy in the Ramadan competition after Tushar Tugnait smashed 130 in his side’s Under-14 encounter against Ghulam Mostafa Cricket Academy, earlier this month.
