“The Emirates Airline Twenty20 promises to be a first-class day of cricket action featuring more international cricket stars than ever before. We hope that seeing players of this calibre up close will inspire a new generation of young cricketers in the UAE,” said Matthew Jackson, managing director Sport Arabia Worldwide.

“This year not only have we upped the quality on the pitch, we have done so off it too. With more activities and attractions, more food and beverage options and the first year of our Cricket Brunch packages, we are sure you, your family and friends will enjoy the day.”

For tournament sponsors Emirates Airline, the tournament is another addition to their long list of association with the sport which includes sponsoring the ICC panel of umpires.

“This year, we are joined by talented players from Sussex, Lancashire and Yorkshire, plus the all-stars of MCC. There is a real buzz about cricket at the moment with the World Cup, currently in its final stages,” said Majid Al Mualla, Emirates divisional senior vice-president, commercial operations centre.

“We can see that the sport has grown in popularity in Dubai over the years, especially since the UAE made it to the 2015 World Cup, and we hope to continue to see that growth.

“This tournament brings professional cricket to all residents of Dubai and is a great day out for the whole family, so I hope fans have a wonderful time.”
