Emirates Cricket Board appoint former PCB security manager as anti-corruption chief

Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) has today confirmed the appointment of Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Azam Khan (Retired) as Head of Security and Anti-Corruption – Emirates Cricket.

In this capacity, Colonel Azam Khan will be actively involved in all aspects of the game, its administrators and players, this will include games at domestic level, sanctioned tournaments and UAE’s National Teams. He will also liaise closely with the ICC Anti-Corruption Unit.

Khalid Al Zarooni, Vice Chairman Emirates Cricket Board, said; “Through the appointment of Colonel Azam Khan Emirates Cricket is taking a positive, firm stance against any activities of corruption.”

“Colonel Khan will have the full and unwavering support of the Board, and the wider management team in our commitment to ensure Cricket in the UAE is clean and transparent.”

Colonel Khan’s experience within the field of policing and anti-corruption is highly regarded, having been an integral member of various Intelligence Assignments, as well as held roles as General Manager Security and Anti-Corruption Pakistan Cricket Board (2013-2015), Senior General Manager Security and Anti-Corruption Pakistan Cricket Board (2015-2016), Head of Anti-Corruption Pakistan Super League (2016-2018), Director Security and Anti-Corruption Pakistan Cricket Board (2016-2019), and is currently acting as a consultant to the ICC Anti-Corruption Unit.
