A brilliant all-round performance from Amjad Rasheed helped Seven Seas Strikers upset Danube Lions by three wickets in their Group C match of the Aseel Islamic Finance 26th Sharjah Ramadan Cup.

Preferring to bat first at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Danube Lions were struggling at 48-4, with key batsmen Rohan Mustafa (11) and Andri Berenger (13) out.

Asad Shafiq battled hard scoring a 29-ball 33 supported by two boundaries, and brief cameos from Abid Ali (12) and Usman Khalid (15) helped Danube reach 111 in 18.3 overs.

Rasheed finished with figures of 4-17, while Salman Randhawa and Waheed Ahmed picked up two each.

Chasing a relatively small target, Seven Seas ran into trouble with the first two wickets falling even before the score reached double figures.

Hamid Ali (15) and Moinuddin (21) began the revival act to put Seven Seas on the path towards victory.

Rasheed then scored 24 runs off 17 balls and Mudassir Ibrahim sealed the fate with a patient unbeaten 33 as Seven Seas achieved the target in 19.1 overs.

Heroes storm into Dulsco Ramadan quarter-finals

Future King Heroes sealed their quarter-final spot after handing a six-wicket defeat to Dubai Municipality in the 13th Dulsco Ramadan tournament.

Inspired by Deepak Sharma’s rocking spell, Future King Heroes restricted Dubai Municipality to 125 for nine in 20 overs before Shivam Sharma powered them home in the 14th over after the loss of three wickets with a solid display of aggressive batting.

Dubai Municipality captain Tahir Hayat opted to bat first after winning the toss only to find his side 27-4 in the third over.

It was an uphill task for Dubai Municipality from thereon but Azeem (29) and Jaffer (30) came up with a useful partnership of 51 runs, and while losing wickets, set a target of 126.

When Future King Heroes started their chase, they faced little difficulty with openers Yakoob Masih (13) and Amit Varma (31).

With the runs still going strong, Varma departed for a score of 50 after having put the team on the path to victory.

Parveen Yadav (22no) and the arrival of Shivam Sharma (52) hastened the chase for Future King Heroes.
