Multiplex CC beat Lanka Lions by six wickets in a Group D match of the 40th Bukhatir League ‘A’ Division at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Asif Raza claimed six wickets to restrict Lanka Lions to 205, and in reply Rohit Singh and Saad Raza scored unbeaten half centuries to take Multiplex past the target in just 39.1 overs.

Electing to bat first, Lanka Lions lost two quick wickets, with  Raza removing Kelum Fernando for five and Malintha Perera for a duck.

Dilshan Vitharana and Heshan De Silva then shared a 35-run stand for the third wicket, but Raza struck again to remove Vitharana.

Next man in Gayan Eranda and De Silva added some respectability to the score with a 70-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

Shane and Waruna Perera further consolidated the innings before Raza returned to claim three more quick wickets.

In reply, Multiplex openers Rohit Singh and Haroon Ahmed put on 22 runs, but useful contributions from Fawad Ali (17), Mohammad Yasir (21) and Rahul Behal (23) ensured there were no hiccups in the chase.

Singh and skipper Saad Naseem remained unbeaten, putting on 77 runs for the sixth wicket.

Naseem needed just 28 balls for his 52 runs, peppered with five hits to the fence and four sixes. In contrast, Singh took 120 deliveries to score 71, his innings studded with six boundaries.
