UAE coach Mohammed Haider has challenged his team to continue their perfect record in the competition as he looks set to make a number of changes in his starting 11 for Saturday’s match against Qatar.

The UAE booked their berth in the semi-finals of the International Women’s T20 Cup on Thursday with a resounding six-run victory over Kenya.

Captain Humaira Tasneem was the stand-out bowler with a devastating spell of 6-9 in her four overs.

The 21-year-old will be able to add to her tally at Sharjah Stadium but Haider will experiment with his squad ahead of the knock-out stages.

“Qatar are a competitive side but now that we have won two games, I want to give the other girls a chance,” he said. “I might make two or three changes to the team and give them an opportunity to see what they have got.

“But it’s going to be difficult. Competition within the squad is strong. Every player is really good and worthy of being included in the starting 11 but it’s also important to give them rest.”

The hosts go into the game with a perfect record with triumphs over Malaysia and Kenya and Haider insists it’s important they go into the semi-final tomorrow on a winning note.

“We want to win this game and top our group,” he said. “Nothing else will do, we want a clean sweep and gain momentum going into our semi-final match because it’s important to build that confidence.”

Other matches today, includes Kenya’s clash with Malaysia at Sharjah Stadium, while Kuwait entertain Uganda at Ajman Ovals.
