The Al Ain Kids Premier League for under-15 boys kicks off  from January 30 and is aimed at giving budding cricketers a chance to play in a longer format than the 20-over competitions which are favoured in the UAE.

Organisers hope the 40-over format provides the opportunity for players to mix caution with aggression instead of just throwing their bats at just about anything in order of quick runs.

“We did this experiment of providing kids with long format and it was a huge success, this inspired us to fill in this gap and conduct a full 40 overs tournament for these young cricketers” said Muhammad Ali of Durham UAE.

The tournament will be played on the natural turf wicket at the Al Ain Sportplex ground in a league format that leads up to a final knockout stage.

The tournament is open to players born from 1.1.2001, while the draw for the tournament will be held on Jan 26, 2016.
