Peshawar Zalmi’s veteran Pakistan batsman Misbah-ul-Haq played a memorable knock against Lahore Qalandars to secure PSL 2019 playoff spot for his team in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

On a pitch where run-making was difficult, Misbah scored an unbeaten 59 to help chase down 125 after Zalmi has been reduced to 20-5.

In the process, Misbah became the oldest batsman to hit a T20 fifty, at the age of 44 years and 281 days.

After the win, Misbah was mobbed by team-mates who gave him the famous salute that had become Pakistan’s signature celebration when he was the captain of the team.

Misbah then took to Twitter to thank his team-mates for their support and dedicated his match-winning effort to the Children Heart Hospital & Research Institute.

It is a project of Misbah along with Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation (PCHF) dedicated to congenital heart defects among children.
