Nepal leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane had a disastrous start to his maiden PSL 2019 campaign last Friday. The Lahore Qalandars leg-spinner was carted around for 46 runs by Multan Sultans, making it his most expensive spell in T20 cricket.

But since then, the teen sensation has pulled things back spectacularly. In his his second match, he finished with 1-20 against Quetta Gladiators in Sharjah.

On Wednesday, Lamichhane put in his best effort in the PSL with a four-wicket burst against Quetta, this time in Dubai, to break the back of the table-toppers.

Lamichhane ended up with 4-10 from his four overs, taking the prized scalps of in-form Shane Watson, Rilee Rossouw and Umar Akmal for single-digit scores.

Not only was Lamichhane brilliant, he easily outbowled the more experienced leg-spinner in the Qalandars team – Yasir Shah.

Shah went wicketless in his first three overs and was carted around at nine an over. His picked up the scalp of Sarfraz Ahmed off his final ball to end up with figures of 1-32 from his four overs.

Quetta were shot out for 106 in the 20th over and Lamichhane’s dream spell – his best in T20 cricket – played a major role in it. As the tournament wears on, expect the Nepal wonderkid to work his magic.
