Eight matches of PSL 2019 to be held in Pakistan

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released the schedule for the fourth edition of the Pakistan Super League with a total of eight matches to be held in the subcontinent.

The 2019 PSL is scheduled to kick off with the clash between defending champions Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars in Dubai on February 14, 2019, and culminate with the final in Karachi on March 17.

In all, 34 matches will be played in the fourth edition and for the first time in the short history of the tournament, Lahore and Karachi will host eight matches between them towards the end of the 32-day event.

Karachi’s National Stadium will host the first of its five allotted matches on March 7 when Karachi Kings take on Peshawar Zalmi. The other four matches are – Karachi Kings versus Quetta Gladiators on March 10, Qualifier on March 13, Eliminator on March 15 and the final.

The iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will be the venue of three matches – Lahore Qalandars versus Islamabad United on March 9, Lahore Qalandars versus The Sixth Team on March 10 and and an Eliminator on March 12.

Also, 14 matches will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, four matches will be held at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi and eight matches will be staged at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

South Africa’s AB de Villiers and Steve Smith of Australia are expected to make their PSL debuts in 2019.
