For the third straight season, Wolves find themselves in the last-eight stage after finishing top of their group with three wins out of three. The Dubai outfit meet the Sharjah side – last season’s Under-15 champions who have already been beaten in the group stage. Having been encouraged by what he’s seen in training so far including Hrithik Bhatia’s form,  Bhagat feels his troops are capable of delivering the killer blow to Zenith’s championship hopes.

“We’ve done well so far and have been in the top eight sides before but now we want to go far as possible,” he said ahead of the Under-17 quarter-final.

“We have been studying their players carefully and we feel we can pull off a big win.”

Zenith coach Vijay Prakash Jugran believes the best is still to come but was wary of Wolves.

“They are good strong side who have done well in the competition so far, so we know it won’t be easy for us. We have some good players who are in form but let’s see what happens on Friday,” he said.

For JC Heat, they have had to deal with a busy exam schedule ahead of their quarter-final against PAK Eagles but their coach Kyle Dawson insists they are raring to go.

“This is the first time we’ve been in the knockouts and the boys are really excited,” he said.

Eagles’ Khalid Mahmood sits fifth in the batting charts with 160 runs and Dawson believes a stern test awaits his side.

“We don’t know much about PAK Eagles but the boys have been looking at their stats and they know what they are in for.”

In the other matches on Saturday at the Sevens, DPS Falcons take on debutants Cambridge, while Dubai’s Modernite meet DPS Sharjah.
