It means much will be riding on their final group game with the winner advancing to the quarter-finals in January.

“Both the teams are equal and we’ve only just started playing in the NSL,” said Abraham. “But I really cannot fault my boys, we played extremely well and we know we will be in for a tough game.”

In the other Abu Dhabi group, Malik Saad’s 68 proved to be decisive as SKBZ PAK Eagles enjoyed a three-wicket win over last season’s U-15 runners-up Abu Dhabi Indian School (ADIS).

Chasing Cambridge’s 65, Nooran Thakur top-scored with 21 as ADIS reached their target with nine wickets to spare.

For Tigers, Nikhil Menon was in top form with the ball, taking two wickets and scoring 25 runs in his side’s eight-wicket win over Merryland Kings.
