The capital outfit endured a torrid time at the crease in last season’s championship decider after being bowled out for 47 in their 66-run loss to DPS Sharjah.

Dey’s side will have another chance for redemption when they meet Our Own Zenith on Friday as both teams travel to The Sevens with 100-per-cent win records.

With some encouraging performances this campaign, Dey hopes his players can go one step further.

“The team I have now is better but I want them to forget about last year’s defeat and concentrate on Friday,” he said. “It was a painful defeat but that’s part of the game.”

Captain Jonathan Figy, with three centuries already, will be hoping to add to his tally as well as replicate his form with the ball, having taken three wickets during their 63-run victory over IHS Knights in the last-four.

Dey, however, insists they are a not a one-man show. “Figy is an important player but we have strong players that I can count on,” he added.

Our Own Zenith come into the game on the back of a thrilling four-run victory over Modern Heros. And coach Fostus Xavier says his boys will carry that confidence into the final against ADIS.

“The energy level during training has been good,” he said.

“They are stepping up and the confidence is high now but they are not over confident.”Xavier agreed Figy is one player Our Own will need to remove early but has backed his “strong bowlers” to come up with the goods.

He said: “All of my bowlers have been playing extremely well and I’m confident we can win. We don’t want Figy to score many runs so we’ll have a strategy to stop him and the team.”
