In reply,the Knight Riders were going along nicely at the half-way mark after an excellent start from Sunil Narine and Chris Lynn. Narine smashed a 10-ball 29 before being dismissed by Shakib Al Hasan. At the end of 10 overs, Kolkata had reached 90-1 with Lynn unbeaten on 43 runs.

Lynn ultimately departed for a well-made 55 in the 14th over but by then Kolkata had seized complete control of the chase. Ultimately, the visitors won with two balls to spare with skipper Dinesh Karthik remaining unbeaten on.
