Rajasthan Royals will bat first at the Sawai Mansingh stadium after skipper Ajinkya Rahane Rahane won the toss. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers are unchanged from their win over Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The hosts lost Jofra Archer for a duck after the all-rounder was promoted to open the innings but Rahane and Rahul Tripathi have forged a 50-run plus stand to stabilise the innings. After a 99-run stand for the second wicket between the two batsmen, Umesh Yadav removed Rahane and Sanju Samson off successive deliveries in the 14th over.

A handy cameo of 32 (21) from Klaasen and Tripathi’s  unbeaten 80 (58) took Rajasthan to 164-5 in their 20 overs. Umesh Yadav was the most successful Royal Challengers bowler with figures of 3-25.

In reply, Bangalore lost Kohli early when he was castled by K Gowtham for just four runs. AB de Villiers and Parthiv Patel then took the game to the Rajasthan bowlers with a half-century stand in quick time. Patel was ultimately dismissed by Shreyas Gopal who then went on to claim the wicket of Moeen Ali in the same over. The leg-spinner struck two times again as he claimed the wickets of Mandeep Singh and De Villiers to reduce Bangalore to 99-6 at the end of 14th over.

In the end, the leg-spinner’s four-wicket burst was a blow the visitors could never recover from as they were bowled for 134 runs in the final over of the innings. Gopal finished with a career-best figures of 4-16 with Di Villiers top-scored for Bangalore with 53 (35).
