Ambati Rayudu became the fourth player to score an IPL century this season as Chennai Super Kings clinched a place in the play-offs after beating Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets on Sunday.

Rayudu reached the three digit milestone in the penultimate over as his 100 (off 62 balls) helped Super Kings chase a competitive 180 in Pune.

MS Dhoni was 20 not out while Shane Watson set the platform with a 57-run knock from 35 deliveries. The win was their eighth in 12 matches and Sunrisers’ third defeat of the competition.

Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad reached 179 for four with half centuries from Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson leading the charge.
