Fantasy IPL 2017: Mumbai Indians vs Rising Pune Supergiant – Three players you should pick in your team

Well, the fantasy tips for Sunday’s late fixture didn’t turn out very well as Virat Kohli got out for a golden duck and AB de Villiers was dismissed for just eight. Sunil Narine did fetch some points with the bat, but he did not bowl at all as the Kolkata Knight Riders rattled through Royal Challengers Bangalore’s line-up for 49.

Moving on to Monday’s game – we have a Maharashtra Derby as Mumbai Indians will play host to Rising Pune Supergiant at the Wankhede Stadium.

While Mumbai are flying high, sitting pretty at the top of the Indian Premier League [IPL] table, Pune seem to be getting some momentum of their own – having won two consecutive matches.

Here, we look at three players who you should look at picking in your fantasy team for this encounter.

KRUNAL PANDYA [750,000] – UPDATE: Krunal has been ruled out of the match due to injury

Krunal has made a name for himself with some really good performances with bat and ball in the IPL over the last two seasons.

The all-rounder could be a good pick here as Pune have only one left-handed batsman [Ben Stokes] in their top six and that could see Krunal bowl a decent number of overs. In addition, he can be brought into your team without wasting a substitution as he is an uncapped player.

MITCHELL MCCLENAGHAN [850,000]

The New Zealand pacer wreaked havoc in the game against Delhi Daredevils, picking up three wickets as he put in a Man of the Match performance on Saturday.

If the Wankhede pitch continues to offer pace and bounce, expect McClenaghan – who is Mumbai’s leading wicket-taker this season – to be among the wickets again.

STEVE SMITH [950,000]

The Pune skipper played a match-winning knock in the reverse fixture but has since failed to convert starts into big scores. But surely with a player of Smith’s calibre, a substantial knock is just around the time.

The pitch at the Wankhede should suit the Australia captain and this might just be the match where he stamps his class on the tournament.
