TEAM NEWS, SQUADS, PREDICTED XIs

KXIP SQUAD: David Miller, Manan Vohra, Axar Patel, Glenn Maxwell, Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Anureet Singh, Sandeep Sharma, Shaun Marsh, Wriddhiman Saha, Nikhil Naik, Mohit Sharma, Marcus Stoinis, KC Cariappa, Armaan Jaffer, Pardeep Sahu, Swapnil Singh, Hashim Amla, Eoin Morgan, Martin Guptill, Matt Henry, Darren Sammy, T Natarajan, Varun Aaron, Rahul Tewatia, Rinku Singh, Ishant Sharma

England limited overs skipper Eoin Morgan was given a run of two games but having failed to build on starts in both innings, don’t be surprised if he is left out this time.

At the top of the order, Hashim Amla was dismissed for a duck against the Sunrisers and Kings XI may be tempted to bring in New Zealand opener Martin Guptill for the experienced South African.

Punjab would also like a big contribution from David Miller, whose last fifty in the IPL came in 2015.

PREDICTED KXIP XI: Vohra, Amla, Maxwell, Miller, Saha (wk), Stoinis, Axar, Mohit, Cariappa, Ishant, Sandeep.

MI SQUAD: Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard, Lasith Malinga, Hardik Pandya, Parthiv Patel, Harbhajan Singh, Ambati Rayudu, Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Gopal, Lendl Simmons, R Vinay Kumar, Mitchell McClenaghan, J Suchith, Siddhesh Lad, Jos Buttler, Nitish Rana, Tim Southee, Jitesh Sharma, Krunal Pandya, Deepak Punia, Nicholas Pooran, Mitchell Johnson, K Gowtham, Karn Sharma, Saurabh Tiwary, Asela Gunaratne, Kulwant Khejroliya

Mumbai have been in red-hot form in this season’s edition of the IPL and seem to have a settled side with the Pandya brothers adding great balance to the team.

They would have expected more from Jos Buttler and there’s a possibility that West Indies’ Lendl Simmons could replace the English wicket-keeper in the playing XI.

On the other hand, the usually reliable Lasith Malinga was expensive in the match against the Gujarat Lions and that could see Mitchell Johnson playing his first match of the season.

If Ambati Rayudu is fit, he is likely to come back into the team.

PREDICTED MI XI: Parthiv (wk), Buttler, Rohit, Rana, Pollard, Krunal, Hardik, Harbhajan, McClenagahan, Johnson, Bumrah.
