The whistles said it all. The jubilation that erupted as Yusuf Pathan walked the doors into the Kolkata Knight Riders’ dressing room portrayed its own tale. A miraculous win had been accorded to the Knights, courtesy some fine, hefty power hitting by the muscular duo of Andre Russel and Yusuf Pathan against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. And the celebrations meted out to the Baroda Bomber were deafening, to say the least.

In the video below, Pathan is greeted to cheers and whistles after a dashing knock of 60 in just 29 deliveries. Needing a mammoth 96 in 44 balls in pursuit of RCB’s total of 185, the batsmen kept their nerve, scripting a scorching win for KKR at Bengaluru.

Called for a reason to celebrate, didn’t it? The video shows the Purple Army putting their vocal chords to full use, shouting slogans in praise of Pathan and Russel, amidst a ear shattering round of applause.

The otherwise reluctant Jacques Kallis, the coach of the Knights, lets the occasion get the better of him, as he, along with the other players, indulge in the team chant, led by none other than Australian Chris Lynn.

“Put your hand on your heart and say, winning for KKR means everything…” exclaims the room of celebrated cricketers in unison. Away from the aggression, there is no missing the childlike glee that envelops the air.

A cracking team atmosphere, a team which values its wins and a franchise which lets its guard down after a cracking triumph.

Play hard, party harder, anyone?

Here’s the video posted on KKR’s official Facebook page:
