Warner, an immensely successful opening batsman, was pushed to the middle-order by Australia during the World Twenty20 and he struggled, scoring just 38 runs in four games, averaging a poor 9.50.

“As we saw last year in our campaign, Warner is destructive at the top of the order. You can ask any opening bowler in world cricket whether they’ll be happy to see him at No1 or No4 and you’ll get the answer that they’ll rather see him coming in a bit later,” Moody said.

The former Australian all-rounder believes playing their first game, four days after the tournament opener, is an advantage for his players who took part in the World Twenty20 that ended last week.

“We’ve had a few days to watch a couple of games. It has given our internationals some time to freshen up mentally and physically, those who were involved in the World T20 campaign. It’s also given us time, as a group, to familiarise, personally but also with each other’s games. I’m very comfortable with the preparation leading into tomorrow,” Moody, 50, said.

Hyderabad will be up against a star-studded Royal Challengers Bangalore featuring Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers and Shane Watson at the Chinnaswamy Stadium Tuesday night. Moody is confident of his team executing their plans well against a formidable opposition.

Interestingly, both teams have won three games each in six meetings so far.
