Explosive all-rounder Shane Watson signs up for Pakistan Super League

Australia’s star all-rounder Shane Watson has become the 152nd foreign player to join the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which is scheduled to be played from 4-24 February in UAE.

Queensland-born Watson has more than 4,000 T20 runs, is a two-time World Cup winner and will now become part of the inaugural draft process.

The player drafting is scheduled to take place in December this year with many top players set to take part.

 “I am very excited to be involved in the inaugural PSL. There are a lot of world class players involved so I can’t wait to be a part of it,” Shane Watson said in a statement to media.

 Meanwhile, PSL Governing Council Chairman Najam Sethi was delighted in signing Watson for the draft.

“We are delighted to have Shane on board and with his record in T20 cricket, he will definitely be a hot pick in the PSL draft,” Sethi stated.

With Watson’s signing the number of foreign players who have signed PSL consent forms has risen to 152. This figure includes a number of players who are from ICC associate member-nations as the league aims to develop cricket around the world.
